Privacy policy
The short version: ZARASAS collects no personal data. There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking, and your progress stays on your device. This website sets no cookies, loads nothing from other servers and keeps no log of who visits.
Who is responsible
The controller under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is:

The game
No data collected
ZARASAS has no accounts and no ads, and it contains no analytics, tracking or advertising code. The game doesn't connect to any server of mine.
Your saves stay on your device
Your progress, settings and records are saved on your device only. I never receive them. Deleting the game, or its save folder, deletes them.
The stores
You get the game from the App Store (Apple), Google Play (Google) or Steam (Valve). They handle the purchase, the download and updates under their own privacy policies; I never see your payment details. If you allow it in your device's settings, Apple and Google share crash reports and usage statistics with developers in a form that doesn't tell me who you are.
- Apple: apple.com/legal/privacy
- Google: policies.google.com/privacy
- Valve: store.steampowered.com/privacy_agreement
Steam
When the game runs through Steam, it sends your achievements, game stats and leaderboard scores to Steam. Steam shows them on your Steam profile and in the game's leaderboards under your Steam name. If you use Steam Cloud, Steam also keeps a copy of your save files in your Steam account. Valve Corporation (Bellevue, Washington, USA) processes this data as the operator of Steam, under Valve's privacy policy linked above. I only see what Steam shows everyone: the leaderboards and how many players earned each achievement. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, the features of the game you bought.
This website
Hosting
This site runs on my own server at Amazon Web Services (Amazon Web Services EMEA SARL, 38 Avenue John F. Kennedy, L-1855 Luxembourg), in its data centre in Frankfurt, Germany. AWS processes data on my behalf under its data processing addendum (Art. 28 GDPR).
When you visit
To send you a page, your browser has to tell the server your IP address, the page you want, and technical details such as your browser and system. The server uses them only to deliver the page and doesn't store them: it keeps no access log. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, my interest in delivering this website securely.
No cookies, no tracking, nothing from other servers
This site sets no cookies and uses no analytics or tracking. Fonts, images and styles all come from this server; nothing is loaded from Google or anyone else. Links to the stores and other sites only take you there when you click them, and their privacy policies apply there.
When you write to info@zarasas.com, I use your address and your message only to answer you. Mail to this address is handled by Apple's iCloud Mail (Apple Distribution International Ltd., Hollyhill Industrial Estate, Hollyhill, Cork, Ireland). I delete the mails once your request is settled, unless the law requires me to keep them (e.g. business letters under German tax law). Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR when it's about the game you bought, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, my interest in answering you.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access your data (Art. 15), to have it corrected (Art. 16) or deleted (Art. 17), to restrict its processing (Art. 18), to data portability (Art. 20), and to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21). Just send me an email. You can also complain to a data protection authority, for example the one responsible for me: Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen, Kavalleriestraße 2–4, 40213 Düsseldorf, Germany.
Children
The game collects no data from anyone, children included.
Changes
If the game or this website changes how it handles data, I'll update this page. The date at the top shows the latest version.
